If malnutrition not too severe → when proper nutrition provided → Growth accelerates.(Catch-up Growth) Illness Race : Calcification & eruption of teeth occurs almost 1 year earlier in American blacks than whites.Socio-economic Factors Family Size & Birth Order : First baby - weighs less but, IQ more.Secular Trends :
eg.: 15 year old boys (5" taller) approx than same age group 50 years back.Reason : - No satisfactory explanation

Climate & Seasonal Effects Physiological disturbance : Stress lowers Growth Hormone secretion.Exercise : Increased motor skills & Muscle mass.
